                   The Groom's Cake

Groom?s cakes, a long-standing Southern tradition, are an excellent way to incorporate a little variety into your reception.  Today, groom?s cakes can be a fun  way for the groom to express himself on a day that is often more bride-focused. Usually the cake is decorated in a design reflecting the groom?s personality or hobbies.

Popular Themes for Groom's Cakes:

  • Treasure Chests or Gift Boxes
  • Hobbies - photography, chessboard, poker table, pool table, bowling, golf, books, etc.

  • Sports - football baseball, hockey, kayaking, snowboarding, fishing, golf, etc.

  • Team Sports - the groom's favorite sports team

  • Wild Animals

A grooms cake is generally cut following the wedding cake. Groom's cakes are a second wedding cake to honor the groom. The cake can be ordered by the bride as a surprise for her groom, by the groom himself, or by the bridal couple together. Grooms cakes can be served also at the rehearsal dinner, as an alternate dessert with the wedding cake, or as a late night dessert for the wedding party.
